About The Position

As a Security Officer Access Control Systems Operator at a logistics and distribution location in Kearny, New Jersey, you will help manage site access, verify credentials, monitor entry points, and provide customer service to employees, visitors, and drivers. You will use communication and technology skills to support security operations and help maintain an organized environment. The position is full-time and pays $19.00 per hour. The listed schedule is Monday through Thursday, 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, consistent with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements; licensing may be required before employment.
Have a valid driver's license if applying for a driving position.

Nice To Haves

Comfort using a computer or tablet.
Experience with access control and badges.
Possession of a guard card or license.
Customer service experience.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to drivers, visitors, and employees by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures and policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
Monitor access points, verify credentials and delivery appointments, maintain visitor and vehicle entry records, and direct authorized personnel to designated areas.
Observe incoming and outgoing traffic, report unusual activity, and follow established escalation procedures to help deter unauthorized access.
Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, notifying appropriate site contacts or emergency services as directed.
Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading areas, parking areas, and the business perimeter.
