About The Position

Responsible administrative, technical and supervisory work in directing a department's computerized security operation involving the safety and protection of its property and monies and the safety of visitors to city facilities; and related work as required. The incumbent to this position will manage and provide effective leadership to the security of the French Quarters.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Four (4) years of experience enforcing building security and conduct, rules and regulations for a municipal facility or installation to prevent disruptive and illegal actions, entry of unauthorized individuals and vehicles, theft and vandalism
  • Two (2) years of which shall have been supervising these activities
  • Must provide original documents of qualifying credentials prior to start date
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must have a current driver's license or other form of picture identification
  • Must have good moral character
  • Must have a High School Diploma and General Equivalency Diploma (GED) issued by a state Department of Education or an institution recognized by a state Department of Education
  • Must have a current license on their person for purposes of identification during all phases of an examination

  • Experience gained within the last ten (10) years will be considered for qualification purposes
  • Veterans, disabled veterans, certain spouses and parents of veterans shall receive additional credit if claimed as provided on the Veterans Preference claim form
