About The Position

Professional library work applying the full scope and range of basic library knowledge and techniques. Work involves analyzing public library needs, selecting library materials, applying bibliographic control techniques, advising the public on library material use, and handling reference and information search requests.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Library Science from an accredited graduate library school
  • One (1) year of full-time professional library experience, gained after receipt of a Master's Degree in Library Science (for entrance)
  • Permanent status as a Librarian I and one (1) year of full-time experience in that classification (for promotion)
  • Must provide original documents of qualifying credentials prior to start date
  • Minimum age of 18 years
