About The Position
Per Mar Security Services is hiring a full-time Loss Prevention Officer. The role involves identifying and apprehending shoplifters through floor patrol and the use of closed-circuit television cameras, preparing reports, interacting with local law enforcement as needed, and providing courtroom testimony when required. The position requires dependable attendance, clear communication, sound judgment during confrontations, and the ability to work with little or no direct supervision.
Requirements
- Complete a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screening.
- Be able to sit, stand, and walk for up to 3–4 hours at a time.
- Have reliable transportation.
- Read, write, and speak English proficiently.
- Communicate clearly and accurately verbally and in writing.
- Write legible, accurate, and easily understood reports.
- Be assertive yet controlled when dealing with confrontation.
- Be trustworthy and able to work with little or no direct supervision.
- Attend scheduled shifts; tardiness and absenteeism are not tolerated.
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent at minimum.
Nice To Haves
- Previous loss prevention or law enforcement experience is a plus, but not required.
- Criminal justice or related studies are a plus.
