About The Position

Per Mar Security Services is hiring a full-time Loss Prevention Officer. The officer identifies and apprehends shoplifters through floor patrols and the use of closed-circuit television cameras, prepares reports, interacts with local law enforcement as needed, and provides courtroom testimony when required. The position requires reliable transportation, clear communication and report-writing skills, sound judgment when handling confrontations, and the ability to work with little or no direct supervision. Consistent attendance for scheduled shifts is required.

Requirements

• Complete a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screening.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for up to 3–4 hours at a time.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
• Ability to communicate clearly and accurately verbally and in writing.
• Ability to write legible, accurate, and easily understood reports.
• Assertive yet controlled approach to dealing with confrontation.
• Trustworthiness and ability to work under little or no direct supervision.
• High school diploma or equivalent, at minimum.

Nice To Haves

• Previous loss prevention or law enforcement experience.
• Studies in criminal justice or a related field.
