About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time unarmed patrol officer for a government education location in Reading, Pennsylvania. The role serves and safeguards the site community by maintaining a visible presence, patrolling assigned areas, responding to incidents, and assisting students, staff, visitors, and vendors. Officers communicate clearly, document observations with computer or tablet tools, and support a welcoming environment through professional customer service. The position pays $17.55 per hour and requires at least six months of relevant security experience. The scheduled hours are Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Requirements

At least 6 months of security-related experience.
At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable law.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

Nice To Haves

Comfort using a computer or tablet.
Customer service experience.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and vendors while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, following campus protocols and reporting procedures.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter locations.
Monitor access points and assigned areas, reporting suspicious behavior, maintenance concerns, and policy violations.
Prepare clear and accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation.
