About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Guard for credential control at a construction-related location in Reston, Virginia. The role involves managing entry and exit points, verifying credentials and visitor activity, maintaining accurate access records, and remaining visible to deter incidents. The officer provides professional customer service and clear communication to clients, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel while following site-specific security procedures. The listed schedule is Friday and Saturday, 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The pay rate is $27.14 per hour. Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel while following site-specific access-control procedures and security policies.
Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, maintain accurate access records, and direct authorized individuals to appropriate site locations.
Respond calmly to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations, following established emergency response activities when appropriate.
Conduct regular and random patrols of the construction location, including perimeter areas, access points, and temporary facilities, and report unusual conditions.
Help deter unauthorized access by monitoring contractor, vendor, and delivery activity and communicating concerns to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
