About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time unarmed Security Guard in De Soto, Kansas, serving a technology, media, and telecommunications location. The role helps safeguard the site by monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, supporting access control, and maintaining a visible presence to deter security-related incidents. The guard provides customer service and clear communication while helping maintain a welcoming environment. The position is scheduled for daytime shifts from 2:45 PM to 11:15 PM on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The pay rate is $22.28 per hour. Applicants must meet age and education requirements and are subject to background investigation and drug screening as permitted by law. State or local licensing requirements may apply.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
Access control or badge experience is preferred.
Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors by carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations, following escalation and reporting procedures.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the business, perimeter, parking areas, and other assigned locations to identify unusual activity, property concerns, and policy violations.
Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as directed by site procedures, and maintain accurate activity logs and incident reports.
Communicate professionally with site personnel and Allied Universal leadership about observations, incidents, and changing conditions.
