About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Guard in Rockford, Illinois, at a technology, media, and telecommunications location. The role focuses on access control, verifying credentials, managing visitor check-in, issuing access badges, documenting entries and exits, and providing customer service. The Security Guard monitors security systems and cameras, responds to alarms and incidents, and conducts patrols of access points, interior areas, and the property perimeter. The stated pay rate is $21.88 per hour. The listed schedule is Monday and Wednesday, 10:00 PM–6:00 AM, and Saturday and Sunday, 2:00 PM–10:00 PM.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles or 21 years old for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
Have a valid driver’s license for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, employees, visitors, and delivery personnel while following security procedures and site-specific policies.
Carry out emergency response activities when appropriate.
Monitor and control facility access by verifying credentials, managing visitor check-in, issuing access badges, and documenting entries and exits.
Respond calmly to access-control alarms, unauthorized-entry attempts, incidents, and critical situations, escalating concerns through established communication channels.
Monitor access-control systems, cameras, and other security equipment, and report equipment issues, unusual activity, and policy violations.
Conduct regular and random patrols of designated access points, interior areas, and the property perimeter.
