About The Position

As a full-time Unarmed Patrol Officer for Allied Universal, you will serve and safeguard clients at a public library in Akron, Ohio. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, provide customer service to visitors and staff, and respond to security concerns with integrity and care. The role is part of a collaborative team focused on teamwork and innovation. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Friday, 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The pay rate is $18.50 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, consistent with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements if required before employment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to library visitors, staff, and guests while following site-specific security procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
Conduct regular and random patrols of public areas, reading rooms, entrances, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
Monitor access points and observe visitor activity; report suspicious behavior, facility concerns, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
Accurately document incidents, patrol activities, and observations, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal supervision and site representatives.
