About The Position

As a part-time Patrol Unarmed Officer at a dynamic technology location in Bessemer, Alabama, you will help safeguard employees, visitors, vendors, and delivery personnel. You will monitor and patrol assigned interior and exterior areas, maintain a visible presence, support a welcoming environment, and respond professionally to security-related concerns. The role includes providing customer service, following site-specific procedures, and taking appropriate emergency response actions. The schedule is Tuesday and Friday, 6:00 AM–2:00 PM. The pay rate is $17.46 per hour.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and local laws and may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

• Comfort using a computer or tablet.
• A state-, county-, or city-issued security-related license.
• CPR certification.
• Customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, vendors, and delivery personnel while following site-specific procedures and, when appropriate, carrying out emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior and exterior areas, including office spaces, parking areas, entrances, loading zones, and perimeter areas, to identify and report unusual conditions or security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site-specific policies, communicate professionally, and escalate concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations by following established protocols and documenting observations and actions taken.
• Complete accurate activity reports, incident reports, and shift communications to support continuity of security-related operations.
