About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Officer Emergency Preparedness in Joliet, Illinois, supporting a government location. The role involves safeguarding clients and the public, maintaining a visible security presence, and helping create a welcoming environment through customer service, communication, and professional responses to concerns. The scheduled shifts are Monday through Wednesday from 4:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. The pay rate is $18.25 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles or at least 21 years old for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation, as permitted and required by applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
Have a valid driver's license if the position involves driving.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
Respond professionally and calmly to incidents, public concerns, and critical situations, following established protocols and contacting appropriate resources as needed.
Conduct regular and random patrols of municipal facilities, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
Monitor access points and observe activity, reporting unusual conditions, hazards, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to designated personnel.
Complete daily activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications in accordance with site requirements and company procedures.
