Security Guard - Part Time Unarmed Patrol
About The Position
As a part-time Unarmed Patrol Officer at a commercial real estate location in Ashburn, Virginia, you will help safeguard tenants, visitors, contractors, and employees while supporting a welcoming environment. You will patrol assigned property areas, monitor visitor activity and access points, respond to security concerns, and provide customer service. The role involves following site-specific security procedures and emergency-response activities, documenting observations and incidents, and communicating with appropriate personnel. Requirements
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
Nice To Haves
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and employees while following site-specific security procedures and participating in emergency-response activities.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of property, building interiors, parking areas, loading zones, and perimeters to identify unusual activity or conditions.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as directed by site policies, and report access-related concerns.
- Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; notify appropriate personnel and document actions taken.
- Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift communications according to company and site requirements.
