About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time unarmed security guard for an assigned transit site in San Carlos, California. The role provides a designated weekly anchor shift for a six-month commitment, with the option to claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform. Hours may vary from part-time to as many as 40 hours per week, with the ability to scale back. The position pays $24.90 per hour and is scheduled Thursday from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

The guard provides customer service to passengers, visitors, employees, and transit personnel while carrying out security procedures, site policies, and emergency response activities at transit facilities and surrounding grounds. Duties include patrols, monitoring access and public areas, reporting concerns, responding to incidents, and documenting activity.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for an unarmed role.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, employees, and transit personnel while following security procedures, site policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of transit stations, platforms, parking areas, administrative locations, and perimeter areas.
• Monitor access points and public areas, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, maintenance concerns, and policy violations.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, disturbances, medical emergencies, and critical situations; notify transit personnel and emergency services as needed.
• Prepare clear and accurate incident reports, patrol logs, and daily activity documentation.
• Communicate professionally with the public and client representatives.
