About The Position

Allied Universal Security Services is hiring a Security Professional Flex Officer in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. This full-time flex role serves and safeguards clients across industries including healthcare, education, and finance. Officers can use a shift-pickup platform to view and claim open shifts according to their availability, gaining experience at different sites. Work may include irregular shifts with little or no advance notice. The listed schedule is Monday through Friday, including weekends. Starting pay is $20.00 per hour, with weekly pay and paid orientation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or five years of verifiable experience.
• Licensing requirements may apply under state or local laws and may be required before employment.
• Valid driver's license if driving a company- or customer-owned vehicle.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• At least 18 years of age, or older if required by the state; 21 years if armed.
• Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments.
• Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors.
• Ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public.
• Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write clearly, informatively, and accurately.
• Active listening and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to assess and evaluate situations and identify critical issues quickly and accurately.
• Ability to mediate conflict with tact and diplomacy.

• No prior experience is required.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in the event of a fire or unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators about rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter the property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized removal of property complies with client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Assist customers, employees, and visitors courteously and professionally.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary according to site Post Orders.
