About The Position

John D. McGurk's Irish Pub and Garden is seeking a dependable Security/Bouncer to help create a safe, welcoming environment for guests and staff in its Irish pub and outdoor garden. This role combines guest service and security operations in a fast-paced hospitality setting. The position is part-time and requires evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.

Must be at least 21 years old.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience as a security guard, bouncer, or in a similar role in a hospitality or restaurant environment.

Responsibilities

Greet guests and check identification to ensure legal age requirements are met.
Provide a friendly and professional first impression at the entrance.
Monitor guest behavior throughout indoor and outdoor areas.
Manage crowd control and address disturbances calmly and effectively.
Enforce house policies and maintain a safe environment for guests and staff.
Assist with emergency situations and coordinate with local authorities if necessary.
Work closely with bartenders, servers, and management to ensure smooth operations.
Report incidents and complete necessary documentation.
