About The Position

Inova Specialty Hospital is seeking a Physical Therapist to provide inpatient post-ICU care to chronic, critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. The role includes evaluating patients, developing and delivering treatment plans, monitoring and adjusting therapy, and supporting patients and families through education and discharge planning. New graduates are welcome, and the hospital provides an extensive orientation program. The position is listed as full time in Alexandria, Virginia, with compensation of $36 per hour.

Requirements

• Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist.
• Certified BLS or completion of BLS within the first 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing systematic patient assessments.
• Promote continuous quality improvement.
• Teach and counsel patients and families.
• Set goals and develop treatment plans.
• Work cooperatively to identify and solve patient-specific and facility-wide needs.
• Participate in discharge planning, including placement, patient and family education, and adaptive equipment.
• Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants and PT and PTA students.
• Conduct individual patient therapy regimens.
• Monitor patients’ responses to treatment and modify treatment during sessions as needed.
• Complete documentation according to department policies and procedures.
• Participate in departmental, hospital, and community continuing education seminars and in-services.
