About The Position

ACTS-Aviation Security, Inc. is hiring a full-time Security Agent at Jacksonville International Airport in Jacksonville, Florida. The position supports aviation security by inspecting airline equipment, screening cargo, monitoring aircraft, wanding passengers, guarding gates, and observing activity and facility surroundings. The role requires working in cold temperatures and nonstandard hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The position reports to an Operations Supervisor or Operations Manager, depending on unit size, and activities are overseen by a Lead or Senior Lead. The starting wage is $16.00 per hour. Applicants must complete pre-employment screening, including an FBI fingerprint check for a SIDA badge, a background check, and a drug screen.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Be at least 18 years old.
Be a U.S. citizen.
Hold a valid U.S. driver's license.
Complete an FBI fingerprint check for a SIDA badge and a background check listed as 10 years, with 5 years verified.
Not have been convicted of any listed FAA disqualifying crimes.
Be able to bend, push, and regularly lift up to 30 pounds to perform essential job functions.
Be willing to work in cold temperatures.
Have written and oral communication skills in English.
Complete pre-employment drug screening, criminal check, and/or airport fingerprinting.

Responsibilities

Inspect airline equipment and check for unauthorized items.
Screen cargo using the equipment or method designated by the customer and according to customer specifications.
Perform aircraft monitoring, passenger wanding, and gate guarding according to customer specifications.
Observe and monitor unit activity and facility surroundings when not performing inspection or validation duties.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
