Secondary Capital Advisory - Experienced Analyst or Associate
About The Position
Piper Sandler is seeking an experienced Analyst or Associate to join the Secondary Capital Advisory team in New York City. This role is part of the Private Capital Advisory group, which was enhanced by Piper Sandler's acquisition of Aviditi Advisors. The Private Capital Advisory group offers comprehensive solutions for alternative investment managers throughout their lifecycle, focusing on primary fundraising, secondary advisory, and portfolio company financing. The Secondary Capital Advisory team specifically advises private equity sponsors on GP-led secondary transactions, such as continuation vehicles, and assists institutional investors seeking liquidity from private assets through LP portfolio sales. The team utilizes extensive expertise in secondaries to originate, structure, and execute these transactions, supporting the ongoing growth of the group.
Requirements
- 2 – 5 years of secondary-specific experience in investment banking, private equity secondaries, or other relevant fields
- Bachelor’s degree with an exemplary academic record
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop internal and external relationships
- Proven ability to work on complex projects, perform well under pressure, and manage tight deadlines
- Exceptional work ethic and high level of enthusiasm
- FINRA SIE, 63 and 79 licenses or willingness to obtain
Responsibilities
- Preparing materials, including confidential information memorandums, new business pitches, client presentations, and supporting due diligence documents
- Building financial projection models for underlying companies and fund level returns
- Conducting new investor outreach, including participating in investor calls and meetings
- Facilitating due diligence and legal negotiation processes
- Interfacing directly with private equity clients, management teams, and investors
- Assisting in screening and due diligence on prospective new mandates
- Communicating regularly with Private Capital Advisory professionals and across Piper Sandler’s M&A teams
