About The Position

Delaware North Parks and Resorts is hiring seasonal Second Cooks for the 2027 spring/summer season at Yellowstone General Stores in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. The role involves preparing food for guest orders and communicating with serving team members in a fast-paced kitchen. Yellowstone General Stores operate at locations throughout the park, including near Old Faithful, Mammoth Hot Springs, and Canyon Village. Employee housing and RV sites, a meal program, store discounts, and recreational opportunities are available.

Requirements

At least one year of previous experience in a back-of-the-house foodservice position.
Ability to read and comprehend prep sheets and recipes.
Basic math skills, including the ability to calculate and follow recipe measurements.
Ability to lift 50 pounds or more, reach up to seven feet, bend, and squat.
Ability to stand and walk for the entire shift in moderate to high noise levels.
Manual ability to chop, mix, blend, and whip foods and liquids, and operate kitchen equipment.
Ability to work in variable temperatures.

Responsibilities

Prepare food according to portion sizes, quality standards, department rules, policies, and procedures.
Maintain proper food temperatures and storage, preserve the freshness and quality of menu items, and package products to specifications.
Keep workstations, coolers, and equipment clean, organized, sanitized, and sufficiently stocked.
Follow waste-control guidelines and record waste on the spoilage sheet.
Perform opening, closing, side-work, and end-of-day inventory duties.
Perform other duties as assigned.
