About The Position

The Seasonal Sales Lead supports store leadership and daily retail operations at Five Below, helping deliver an energetic customer experience and maintain the company’s service standards. The role assists with supervising associates, training and onboarding, receiving and merchandising stock, driving sales, controlling expenses, and maintaining the store. When needed, the Sales Lead serves as Manager on Duty and may oversee store opening or closing procedures.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of management experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask.
• Creative thinking.
• Ability to maintain composure under pressure.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and possibly overnight shifts; travel may be required as needed.
• Ability to identify and understand email and printed instructions about merchandise layouts, associate schedules, and standard operating procedures.
• Ability to remain in a stationary, upright position for 80% of the time.
• Frequently operate a cash register, computer, handheld devices, phone, walkie, and mobile devices.
• Frequently move merchandise weighing up to 25 pounds and place or remove merchandise at heights of 5–10 feet.
• Frequently climb and descend ladders to retrieve and put away stock.
• Frequently kneel, bend, twist, and stoop, including in the stock room and on the sales floor.
• Frequently communicate and exchange accurate information with customers, managers, and coworkers in person and by telephone.
• Frequently move across the sales floor and between the sales floor and stock room.

Responsibilities

• Ensure crew members provide customers with personal, attentive service.
• Train crew members on the B.E.S.T. customer service experience and help ensure fast, friendly checkout.
• Help oversee daily activities of store associates and support effective performance and excellent customer service.
• Assist with receiving, unpacking, and organizing new stock so merchandise reaches the sales floor efficiently.
• Act as Manager on Duty when needed, taking responsibility for store operations, staff management, customer service, and urgent issues.
• Occasionally manage store opening or closing, including securing cash, locking doors, setting alarms, and preparing the store for operations.
• Support associate onboarding and ongoing training in store policies, product knowledge, and operational procedures.
• Drive sales and control expenses by seeking improvements in merchandising, staff performance, and customer service.
• Partner with the store leadership team on merchandising procedures and World Recovery.
• Perform store maintenance, including taking out garbage, sweeping, cleaning bathrooms, and maintaining the stock room.
