About The Position

Five Below is hiring a Seasonal Sales Associate to help create a fun, welcoming shopping experience and support store and company goals. The role focuses on assisting customers, sharing product knowledge, promoting events and offers, resolving customer concerns, and communicating store needs to management. Candidates must be available at 5 a.m. on weekdays and able to work a flexible schedule that may include day, evening, weekend, and overnight shifts, as well as travel when required. The position is hourly and starts at $16.00.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Must be available at 5 a.m. on weekdays.
• Available to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including day, evening, weekend, and potentially overnight shifts; travel may be required.
• Comfortable using technology such as computers, cash registers, hand-held devices, and mobile devices, or willing to learn.
• Able to communicate well and engage with customers.
• Able to handle customer interactions and potential concerns courteously and professionally.
• Able to use basic information-gathering skills to solve problems.
• Able to learn procedural knowledge through on-the-job training.
• Frequently move merchandise weighing up to 25 pounds and place or remove merchandise at heights of 5–10 feet.
• Frequently climb and descend ladders, kneel, bend, twist, stoop, and move between the sales floor and stock room.
• Able to remain in a stationary, upright position for 80% of the time.
• Able to communicate and exchange accurate information with customers, managers, and coworkers in person and by telephone.
• Able to identify and understand email and printed instructions about merchandise layouts, associate schedules, and standard operating procedures.

Responsibilities

• Greet and acknowledge customers promptly, assist them, and manage multiple customer interactions efficiently.
• Understand customer needs by sharing product knowledge, answering questions, directing customers to merchandise, and offering recommendations.
• Use suggestive selling and stay informed about product availability.
• Inform customers about store events, promotions, and special activities.
• Address customer concerns and use product knowledge to suggest solutions, including exchanges where appropriate.
• Keep management informed about restocking and service needs, as well as customer feedback.
• Collaborate with the team to meet store and company goals and support a positive, productive work environment.
• Operate the cash register and other listed devices; move, retrieve, and put away merchandise; and assist customers across the sales floor and stock room.
