Seasonal Retail Fragrances Sales Associate, Oxford Valley
About The Position
As a Seasonal Fragrance Sales Support colleague, you help create a warm, inviting experience in Macy’s fragrance department. You maintain a beautifully merchandised, fully stocked space and support the sales team behind the scenes and on the floor. Tasks include preparing products, restocking displays, and assisting with transactions. The role combines customer service and sales support, requiring attention to detail, hospitality, flexibility, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Seasonal colleagues are typically scheduled 10–20 hours per week. Hours depend on business needs and colleague availability. The position requires availability for various shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
- Flexible availability for days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to understand and communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
- Ability to read and understand employment policies and safety rules and procedures in English.
- Comfort communicating and collaborating with customers and colleagues.
- Ability to meet daily sales goal challenges.
- Enjoyment of meeting people, learning about them, and sharing information.
- Resourcefulness, eagerness to start a new venture, adaptability to changing priorities, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to use computers and other technology, including handheld equipment and cash registers, and to process register transactions.
- Ability to talk, lift, move, stand, and reach with arms and hands; stand for at least two consecutive hours; lift at least 25 pounds; stoop, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, and reach above eye level.
- Close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Responsibilities
- Help keep the sales floor clean, organized, and ready for customers.
- Review sales goals and stay informed about new arrivals, top-selling items, trends, and promotions.
- Welcome customers and create friendly, personal conversations that build customer relationships.
- Maintain a shoppable fragrance department by merchandising new receipts, processing damages and testers, and selecting merchandise for return to vendors.
- Update signs and pricing and support merchandise moves as needed.
- Assist with transactions and other sales-floor support tasks.
- Share Loyalty program benefits, ensure customers have what they need, and provide a sincere thank-you.
- Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to serve customers and support store results.
- Work toward sales goals and learn from colleagues to improve individual and store performance.
