Seasonal Retail Associate
About The Position
Retail Associates serve as brand ambassadors for Columbia Sportswear Company and its brands, engaging consumers to provide personalized shopping experiences. They use product knowledge to recommend products, explain product features and benefits, share the brand story, and support consumer loyalty. Associates contribute to store profitability and performance while assisting the Store Leadership Team in carrying out the company mission of “Connecting Active People with Their Passions.” The role supports sales-floor product availability and presentation, customer inquiries, checkout, and other day-to-day store operations.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and experience engaging consumers and selling merchandise.
- Skill operating inventory and point-of-sale (POS) systems and other retail software tools.
- Up to 2 years of experience in a position or specialization.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
Responsibilities
- Engage consumers in personalized conversations to understand their needs and preferences, recommend products, and answer questions using product knowledge.
- Use selling techniques and explain product features and benefits to influence buying decisions.
- Act as a brand ambassador by sharing Columbia Sportswear’s brand story and embodying company values.
- Merchandise products and create compelling product stories; restock and maintain sales-floor standards and product accessibility.
- Process sales, returns, and exchanges accurately and efficiently, engage consumers during checkout, and connect them with company loyalty programs.
- Receive and process incoming and outgoing products accurately and efficiently to contribute to inventory accuracy.
- Learn and apply store policies, procedures, and programs to support day-to-day operations.
