About The Position

Retail Associates serve as brand ambassadors and provide exceptional in-store experiences through positive customer interactions. They use problem-solving and sales abilities to answer questions, make product recommendations, support customer service and teamwork, and help advance Columbia Sportswear Company’s mission of connecting active people with their passions. Associates also help ensure product availability, create visual displays, address customer inquiries, and keep checkout operations efficient.

Requirements

• At least 16 years of age.
• Up to 2 years of experience in a position or specialization.
• Skill operating inventory and point-of-sale (POS) systems and other retail software tools.
• Ability to communicate clearly with others.
• Availability to work a flexible retail schedule that may change seasonally and in response to location-specific business trends or forecasts.
• Ability to frequently move about an active environment and adjust or move items weighing up to 40 lbs.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer questions or issues about product features, benefits, and availability, and learn about customers’ needs and preferences.
• Demonstrate and explain merchandise and recommend suitable options to customers.
• Maintain visual merchandising, cleanliness, and safety standards in the store.
• Retrieve merchandise from the sales floor, stock room, or other inventory locations.
• Complete cash register transactions, including sales, returns, exchanges, and loyalty program connections, accurately and efficiently.
• Receive, handle, replenish, and process incoming and outgoing products accurately and efficiently.
