About The Position

As a Retail Associate, you serve as a brand ambassador and help ensure exceptional in-store experiences through positive customer interaction. You use problem-solving and sales abilities to answer customer questions and make product recommendations while supporting customer service and teamwork. Associates also help maintain product availability and visual displays, address customer inquiries, and run efficient checkout processes in support of Columbia Sportswear Company’s mission of “Connecting Active People with Their Passions.”

Requirements

• Be at least 16 years of age.
• Have 2 years or less of experience in a position or specialization.
• Have skill operating inventory and point-of-sale (POS) systems and other retail software tools.
• Be able to communicate clearly with others.
• Be available to work a flexible retail schedule that may change seasonally and in response to location-specific business trends or forecasts.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer questions or issues about product features, benefits, and availability, and learn about customers’ needs and preferences.
• Demonstrate and explain merchandise, and suggest suitable options to customers.
• Maintain store standards for visual merchandising, cleanliness, and safety.
• Retrieve merchandise from the sales floor, stock room, or other inventory locations.
• Complete cash register transactions, including sales, returns, exchanges, and loyalty program connections, efficiently and accurately.
• Receive, handle, replenish, and process incoming and outgoing product flow accurately and efficiently.
