About The Position

The Seasonal Retail Associate is responsible for delivering a highly satisfied customer experience through engaging and interacting with customers, following customer experience principles, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. The role follows operational, merchandise, loss prevention, safety, and labor standards, and may involve cross-training in multiple store areas to support business needs.

The associate supports a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect; processes purchases and returns accurately; promotes credit and loyalty programs; and prepares and presents merchandise according to company procedures. The position also includes store recovery, cleanliness and organization, shrink-reduction activities, safety awareness, and other duties as assigned.

This is a seasonal position at the TJ Maxx Store 1276 in Southbury, Connecticut. The starting pay range is USD $16.94 to $17.44 per hour. Actual starting pay depends on factors including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers and applying customer experience principles.
• Model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
• Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
• Accurately ring purchases and returns and count change according to established operating procedures.
• Promote credit and loyalty programs.
• Maintain the merchandising philosophy and follow established merchandising procedures and standards.
• Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
• Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
• Maintain sales-floor organization, cleanliness, and recovery standards and help maintain and clean the entire store.
• Give and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
• Follow labor laws, policies, and procedures.
• Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
• Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
