About The Position

As a Retail Associate, you serve as a brand ambassador and help ensure exceptional in-store experiences through positive customer interactions. You use problem-solving and sales abilities to answer customer questions and make product recommendations while supporting Columbia Sportswear Company’s values of customer service and teamwork. Associates help maintain product availability, create visual displays, address customer inquiries, and operate checkout processes, while supporting the Store Leadership team and the company’s mission of connecting active people with their passions.

Requirements

• At least 16 years of age.
• Skill operating inventory and point-of-sale (POS) systems and other retail software tools.
• Ability to communicate clearly with others.
• Availability to work a flexible retail schedule that may change seasonally and in response to location-specific business trends or forecasts.
• Ability to frequently move about in an active environment and frequently adjust or move items weighing up to 40 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Two or fewer years of experience in a position or specialization.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer questions or issues about product features, benefits, and availability, and engage customers to understand their needs and preferences.
• Demonstrate and explain merchandise, suggest suitable options, and make product recommendations.
• Maintain store standards for visual merchandising, cleanliness, and safety.
• Retrieve merchandise from the sales floor, stock room, or other inventory locations.
• Complete cash register transactions, including sales, returns, exchanges, and loyalty program connections, efficiently and accurately.
• Receive, handle, replenish, and process incoming and outgoing products accurately and efficiently to contribute to store profitability.
