About The Position
Stovepipe Wells, located in Death Valley National Park, is seeking a Seasonal Retail Associate for Winter 2026. This role is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the retail outlets within the resort. The associate will actively cultivate a safe, friendly, and fun work environment where outdoor adventure and environmental stewardship are embraced. Stovepipe Wells is an 80-room hotel with a restaurant, bar, pool, gas station, general store, and gift shop, operating as a welcoming, safe, and environmentally responsible resort under a concession contract with the National Park Service. POWDR, the operating company, is an adventure lifestyle company focused on creating inspiring experiences in unique locations.
Requirements
- Experience with POS technology and cash handling techniques.
- Ability to perform routine visual inspections of products and ensure attractive, neat placement.
- Ability to ensure attractive, clean and organized products.
- Ability to secure proper signage and help with loss prevention.
- Ability to adhere to green procurement standards.
- Ability to prepare for inspections and audits.
- Ability to communicate family friendly recreation for the public and lodging guests.
- Knowledge of inventory to maximize business and sales.
- Willingness to participate in on-going team training and development engagement.
- Willingness to train and develop staff.
- Ability to implement positivity and fun in daily operations.
Nice To Haves

Responsibilities
- Answer guest questions regarding recreation, trails, paths, merchandise, lodging, the local area, directions, open hours, the resort and other relevant interests.
- Utilize POS technology and cash handling techniques.
- Visually check inventory, products and receiving.
- Perform routine visual inspections of products and ensure attractive, neat placement.
- Ensure prompt service and guest comment card surveys, and participate in actions to improve as directed.
- Ensure attractive, clean and organized products.
- Secure proper signage and help with loss prevention.
- Work to ensure a top-notch, high touch guest experience.
- Adhere to green procurement standards.
- Prepare for inspections and audits and be always prepared.
- Communicate family friendly recreation for the public and lodging guests.
- Be well-versed in inventory to maximize business and sales.
- Participate in on-going team training and development engagement to maximize the guest experience, satisfaction, and skills such as, EHSQ, offering and selling merchandise, retail, lodging, and activities.
- Train and develop staff to ensure excellent customer service and efficiency.
- Promote overall enjoyable staff experience by implementing positivity and fun in daily operations.
