About The Position

Stovepipe Wells in Death Valley National Park is seeking a Seasonal Bartender for Winter 2026. Stovepipe Wells is an 80-room hotel, restaurant, bar, pool, gas station, general store, and gift shop. It is a welcoming, safe, and environmentally responsible resort providing accommodations and services inside Death Valley National Park, operated by POWDR under a long-term concession contract with the National Park Service.

Requirements

  • Able to work and thrive in Death Valley National Park.
  • Ability to follow Bartender and F&B requirements and compliance with our concessions contract.
  • Ability to get along well with people, be honest, punctual and reliable.
  • Ability to remain calm and friendly.
  • Ability to physically work as a bartender and server.
  • Ability to adapt to changing work conditions.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Current CA Food Handlers Certification Card required
  • TIPs or Responsible Beverage Service equivalent required
  • Minimum 1 year bartender and F&B experience required.
  • Current CPR w/AED and First Aid medical certification is required.
  • Understand and follow all ESQ procedures that relate to your job duties.
  • Work with a “safety-first” attitude.
  • Minimize your impact on the environment when at work and living onsite.
  • Treat our customers, co-workers, leadership teams, all internal guests with respect and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.
  • All team members must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available in the Employee Handbook).
  • Team members will be trained in the proper use and care of assigned PPE. It is your responsibility to report defective, damaged or lost PPE, or equipment that does not fit properly, to your Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests, serve drinks responsibly in line with TIPS training.
  • Offer to help, answer questions, and communicate knowledgably about menu and drink items, pricing, hours and availability for every bar service location.
  • Stocks bar supplies, refrigerated and frozen items, comment cards, etc.
  • Maintains an organized and clean bar counter, bar back, preparation area, and storage areas. Stores supplies and puts away in designated locations.
  • Complete all food and drink safety checks, handwashing, cleaning, sanitizing protocols and wear gloves, and with consistency follow health safety standards.
  • Complete all bar and food and beverage safety training to ensure compliance is current at time of work. Exercise diligence in safety processes.
  • When ill does not work and reports illness to the management team.
  • Participate in departmental audits and corrective actions as directed by leadership.
  • Answer guests’ questions, anticipate guest needs, is friendly and accommodating.
  • Arrive to work shifts wearing a clean, pressed, and complete uniform with nametag.
  • Wear proper footwear and take time to regularly clean and shine them.
  • Is helpful and professional with coworkers.
  • Respectfully start and end shifts on time, as directed by supervisor.
  • Leave workstations clean, organized, sanitized and prepared for the following shift.
  • Exercise diligence and accountability with POS payments, order accuracy, and cash handling.
