About The Position

Stovepipe Wells, located in Death Valley National Park, is seeking a Seasonal Expo / Food Runner for Winter 2026. This role is part of a welcoming, safe, and environmentally responsible resort that offers accommodations and services within the National Park. Stovepipe Wells is operated by POWDR under a concession contract with the National Park Service, offering a unique work culture to 'Journey Beyond the Ordinary'. The position involves expediting orders and running food for the restaurant and saloon, ensuring effective communication with kitchen staff, visitors, servers, and coworkers. A key aspect of the role is maintaining clean and sanitized work areas in line with California Food Handling Safety Standards, including proper labeling and storage of food items. The ideal candidate will be open to continuous learning and improvement, and will be responsible for stocking and organizing supplies, completing cleaning and sanitizing protocols, and ensuring food safety compliance. This role also requires answering guest questions in a friendly and accommodating manner, wearing a clean uniform and proper footwear, and maintaining professional and respectful interactions with coworkers. Due to the nature of the business, flexibility in scheduling, including weekends and holidays, is essential.

  • Minimum 1 year food and beverage experience required.

  • A flexible schedule with commuting from Pahrump or Beatty or Las Vegas will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Take direction from Leads, Assistant Manager, and F&B Manager.
  • Expedite orders and run food for the restaurant and saloon.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, visitors, servers and coworkers.
  • Ensure the work areas are clean and sanitized, good housekeeping, and proper labelling, and storage in line with CA Food Handling Safety Standards.
  • Maintain a valid CA Food Handler Card and follow set practices in the kitchen environment.
  • Open to education/training, coaching and learning on a continuous basis to improve.
  • Stock and organize supplies, refrigerated and frozen items in a maintained, organized environment.
  • Complete all cleaning, sanitizing protocols, wears gloves, in line with food safety.
  • Complete all food safety training to ensure compliance.
  • When ill, follows company illness reporting procedures and applicable sick leave policies.
  • Answer server and guests’ questions while being friendly and accommodating.
  • Wear a clean, complete uniform with nametag in accordance with company standards.
  • Wear clean, proper footwear.
  • Be helpful and professional with coworkers, respectfully starting and ending shifts on time, and leaving the stations clean, organized, sanitized and prepared for the following shift.
  • Understand and follow all ESQ procedures that relate to your job duties.
  • Work with a “safety-first” attitude.
  • Minimize your impact on the environment when at work and living onsite.
  • Treat our customers, co-workers, leadership teams, all internal guests with respect and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.
  • Maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available in the Employee Handbook).
  • Trained in the proper use and care of assigned PPE.
  • Report defective, damaged or lost PPE, or equipment that does not fit properly, to your Manager.
