About The Position

As a Retail Associate, you serve as a brand ambassador and help create exceptional in-store experiences through positive customer interactions. You use problem-solving and sales abilities to answer customer questions and make product recommendations while supporting Columbia Sportswear Company’s values of customer service and teamwork. Associates help ensure product availability, maintain visual displays, address customer inquiries, and operate checkout efficiently. They also support the Store Leadership team in carrying out the company’s mission of “Connecting Active People with Their Passions.”

Requirements

• Be at least 16 years of age.
• Have 2 or fewer years of experience in a position or specialization.
• Be able to operate inventory and point-of-sale (POS) systems and other retail software tools.
• Communicate clearly with others.
• Be available to work a flexible retail schedule that may change seasonally and in response to location-specific business trends or forecasts.
• Be able to frequently move about in an active environment and adjust or move items weighing up to 40 lbs.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service by responding to questions about product features, benefits, and availability, and understanding consumers’ needs and preferences.
• Demonstrate and explain merchandise, and suggest suitable options to consumers.
• Maintain store standards for visual merchandising, cleanliness, and safety.
• Retrieve merchandise from the sales floor, stock room, or other inventory locations.
• Perform cash register transactions, including sales, returns, exchanges, and connecting consumers to the loyalty program, accurately and efficiently.
• Receive, handle, replenish, and process incoming and outgoing products accurately and efficiently to contribute to store profitability.
