Seasonal Hourly Shift - Multiple Vacancies
About The Position
The Maryland Department of Natural Resources, Maryland Park Service, is recruiting for multiple seasonal contractual positions for the Fall 2026 to Spring 2027 season at Tuckahoe State Park, Martinak State Park, Cypress Branch State Park, Sassafras NRMA, and Wye Island NRMA. The working titles include Housekeeping/Custodial Worker, Housekeeping/Custodial Worker Lead, Maintenance Worker, Maintenance Worker Lead, Contact Station/Concession Attendant, Visitor Services Attendant, Naturalist, Naturalist Lead, Park Ranger, and Park Ranger Lead. Applicants must indicate which positions they are interested in on the Supplemental Questionnaire. Positions are based at the listed parks and natural resource management areas in Queen Anne’s, Caroline, and Kent counties, Maryland. Requirements
- At least 40 hours of customer service or maintenance experience; qualifying experience may include professional or volunteer work in retail, the service industry, administrative work, or similar fields.
- Applicants must indicate the position(s) of interest on the Supplemental Questionnaire.
- For assignments requiring operation of a motor vehicle, UTV, or golf cart, a valid Maryland motor vehicle operator’s license and five points or fewer on the current driving record are required; provisional licenses are not accepted.
- Applicants must provide sufficient and complete information about relevant qualifications in the application by the closing date.

Benefits
- Eligible contractual employees working 30 or more hours per week or an average of 130 hours per month may qualify for subsidized medical and prescription coverage for themselves and eligible dependents; the employee pays 25% of premiums and the State subsidizes the remaining 75%.
- Dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance may be elected at the employee’s full premium cost.
- Contractual leave may accrue at one hour for every 30 hours worked, up to 40 hours per calendar year.
