About The Position

The Restaurant Host serves Neiman Marcus customers in a warm, accommodating, and professional manner by greeting and seating customers. The role maintains a professional presence at the host stand, supports smooth dining-room service, manages reservations and inquiries, and helps organize seating and customer flow. The host also follows established transaction and hygiene procedures, maintains menus, participates in pre-shift meetings, and follows the posted work schedule and procedures for shift changes.

Requirements

Knowledge of the OpenTable platform.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work autonomously.
Motivated and results-driven.
Ability to interact graciously with the public and handle multiple duties at the same time.
Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills.
A “Win together” mentality.
Ability to stand, bend, climb stairs, and lift and carry 35 pounds.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

Professionally and graciously greet and seat customers at the host stand or door.
Monitor server performance to support smooth service during customers’ dining experiences.
Use proper telephone etiquette.
Manage reservations through OpenTable, including VIP reservations, and respond to inquiries about operating hours, specials, events, and related matters.
Organize reservations, maximize seating during operating hours, and optimize staffing and customer traffic.
Follow established accounting procedures for transactions, accept authorized payment methods, and maintain knowledge of the POS system.
Maintain service flow standards, including seating customers appropriately among wait stations.
Participate in daily pre-shift meetings.
Perform duties that may involve lifting objects such as tables, chairs, and highchairs.
Maintain the cleanliness and presentability of menus and menu covers.
Meet hygiene and appearance standards, including wearing clean, pressed uniform clothing and maintaining clean, professionally styled hair and nails to avoid food-contamination risks.
Follow the posted work schedule and established procedures for schedule and shift changes.
