About The Position

The Restaurant Host serves Neiman Marcus customers in a warm, accommodating, and professional manner by greeting and seating them. The role supports smooth dining service by coordinating reservations, seating, customer traffic, and communication with servers. Hosts maintain professional service and hygiene standards, follow established transaction and scheduling procedures, and may perform duties involving movement of restaurant furniture.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Knowledge of the OpenTable platform.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work autonomously.
Motivated and results-driven.
Ability to interact graciously with the public and handle multiple duties simultaneously.
Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills.
A collaborative “win together” mentality.
Ability to stand, bend, climb stairs, and lift and carry 35 pounds.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Maintain a presence at the host stand or door to greet and seat customers professionally and graciously.
Monitor server performance to help ensure smooth service during customers’ dining experiences.
Use proper telephone etiquette.
Handle reservations through OpenTable, including VIP reservations, and respond to inquiries about operating hours, specials, events, and other matters.
Organize reservations, maximize seating during operating hours, and optimize staffing and customer traffic.
Follow established accounting procedures for transactions, use authorized payment methods, and maintain knowledge of the POS system.
Maintain service flow standards, including seating customers appropriately across wait stations.
Participate in daily pre-shift meetings.
Perform duties that may involve lifting objects such as tables, chairs, and highchairs.
Keep menus and menu covers clean and presentable.
Maintain high hygiene standards, including clean, pressed clothing and professionally styled hair and nails maintained to avoid food-contamination risks.
Adhere to the posted work schedule and follow procedures for schedule and shift changes.
