About The Position

The Restaurant Server serves Neiman Marcus customers in a warm, accommodating, and professional manner consistent with the company’s high standards. The role involves serving an assigned dining section, explaining food and beverage offerings, processing transactions, and maintaining the restaurant and workstation. This is a seasonal, part-time-hours position with a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Requirements

• Experience serving food and beverages and following proper table-service guidelines.
• Ability to work autonomously.
• Motivated and results-driven approach.
• Thorough knowledge of order of service and proper placement of table settings, food, and beverages according to kitchen tickets and the guidebook.
• Thorough knowledge of food, including preparation and culinary terminology.
• Ability to interact graciously with the public and handle multiple duties at the same time.
• Exceptional customer-service and problem-solving skills.
• A “win together” mentality.
• Ability to stand, bend, climb stairs, and lift and carry 35 pounds.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Serve an assigned dining section in a professional and gracious manner.
• Use knowledge of food preparation and culinary terminology to give customers detailed information about menu items.
• Use knowledge of wine, beer, and spirits, including technical and service procedures.
• Interact graciously with the public while handling multiple duties at the same time.
• Participate in daily pre-shift meetings.
• Follow established accounting procedures for transactions and authorized payment methods, and maintain knowledge of the POS system.
• Complete pre-shift, post-shift, daily, and weekly duties as assigned by a supervisor.
• Lift objects such as tables, chairs, and highchairs as needed.
• Clean and maintain the restaurant and workstation.
• Maintain hygiene standards, including clean and pressed uniform clothing and professionally styled hair and nails that avoid food-contamination risks.
• Follow scheduling procedures, punch in and out for each scheduled shift, take and record applicable lunch breaks, and coordinate time off with management.
