About The Position

The Restaurant Server serves Neiman Marcus customers in a warm, accommodating, and professional manner consistent with the company’s high standards. The role serves an assigned dining section, provides knowledgeable guidance about food and beverages, completes assigned restaurant duties, and maintains a clean and hygienic work area. This is a seasonal, part-time-hours position with a flexible schedule based on business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

• Experience serving food and beverages and following proper table-service guidelines.
• Ability to work autonomously.
• Motivated and results-driven.
• Thorough knowledge of order of service and proper placement of table settings, food, and beverages as indicated by kitchen tickets and the guidebook.
• Thorough knowledge of food preparation and culinary terminology.
• Ability to interact graciously with the public and handle multiple duties at the same time.
• Exceptional customer-service and problem-solving skills.
• A “win together” mentality.
• Ability to stand, bend, climb stairs, and lift and carry 35 pounds.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Serve an assigned section of the dining area in a professional and gracious manner.
• Use knowledge of food preparation and culinary terminology to provide customers with detailed information about menu items.
• Use knowledge of wine, beer, and spirits, including technical and service procedures.
• Interact graciously with the public while handling multiple duties at the same time.
• Participate in daily pre-shift meetings.
• Follow established accounting procedures for transactions, use authorized payment methods, and maintain knowledge of the POS system.
• Complete pre-shift, post-shift, daily, and weekly duties assigned by a supervisor.
• Perform duties that may involve lifting objects such as tables, chairs, and highchairs.
• Clean and maintain the restaurant and workstation.
• Maintain hygiene standards, including clean and pressed clothing and shoes and professionally maintained hair and nails to avoid food contamination risks.
• Follow scheduling procedures, punch in and out for shifts, take and record applicable lunch breaks, and coordinate schedule changes and time off with management.
