About The Position

Five Below is hiring seasonal associates for its busy holiday season, which runs from October through January. The role focuses on stocking merchandise and helping customers while contributing to store sales, service, and team goals. Associates are expected to keep merchandise organized and the sales floor well-stocked, provide customer assistance and product recommendations, promote store events and promotions, address customer concerns, and communicate customer feedback and store needs to management. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Store Manager according to store needs.

Requirements

At least 16 years old.
Available to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs.
Comfortable with or willing to learn technology, including computers, cash registers, hand-held devices, and mobile devices.
Good communication skills and ability to engage with customers.
Ability to handle customer interactions and concerns courteously and professionally.
Ability to use basic information-gathering skills to solve problems.
Ability to learn procedural knowledge through on-the-job training.
Ability to move merchandise weighing up to 25 pounds and place or remove merchandise at heights of 5–10 feet.
Ability to frequently climb and descend ladders and kneel, bend, twist, and stoop.
Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information with customers, managers, and coworkers in person and by telephone.
Ability to work day, evening, weekend, and potentially overnight shifts; travel may be required.
Ability to read and understand email and printed instructions regarding merchandise layouts, associate schedules, and operating procedures.
Ability to remain in a stationary, upright position for 80% of the time.

Responsibilities

Greet and promptly assist customers, including handling multiple customer interactions efficiently.
Assess customer needs, share product knowledge, answer questions, direct customers to merchandise, and offer recommendations.
Use suggestive selling and stay informed about product availability.
Inform customers about store events, promotions, and special activities.
Address customer concerns and offer alternative solutions, aiming to turn returns into exchanges when possible.
Communicate merchandise restocking needs, service requirements, and customer feedback to management in a timely manner.
Collaborate with the team to achieve store and company goals and contribute to a positive work environment.
Retrieve, put away, and move merchandise, including using ladders and working across the stock room and sales floor.
