About The Position

This seasonal Five Below role supports the store by assisting customers, promoting products and store events, resolving customer concerns, communicating merchandise and service needs to management, and helping the team meet store and company goals. The position requires a flexible schedule that may include day, evening, weekend, and overnight shifts, as well as travel when required. It involves frequent use of store technology, movement and stocking of merchandise, ladder use, and work across the sales floor and stock room.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Available to work a flexible schedule, including day, evening, weekend, and potentially overnight shifts; travel may be required.
• Comfortable using or willing to learn technology such as computers, cash registers, hand-held devices, and mobile devices.
• Good communication skills and ability to engage with customers.
• Ability to handle customer interactions and concerns courteously and professionally.
• Ability to use basic information-gathering skills to solve problems.
• Ability to learn procedural knowledge through on-the-job training.
• Ability to frequently move merchandise weighing up to 25 pounds and place or remove merchandise at heights of 5–10 feet.
• Ability to frequently ascend and descend ladders.
• Ability to frequently kneel, bend, twist, and stoop.
• Ability to remain in a stationary, upright position for 80% of the time.
• Ability to identify and understand email and printed instructions concerning merchandise layouts, associate schedules, and standard operating procedures.
• Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information with customers, managers, and coworkers in person and by telephone.

Responsibilities

• Greet and promptly assist customers, including managing multiple customer interactions efficiently.
• Assess customer needs by sharing product knowledge, answering questions, locating merchandise, and making recommendations.
• Use suggestive selling and stay informed about product availability.
• Inform customers about store events, promotions, and special activities.
• Address customer issues courteously and use product knowledge to suggest solutions, including exchanges when appropriate.
• Communicate merchandise restocking needs, service requirements, and customer feedback to management in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with the team to support store and company goals and contribute to a positive, productive work environment.
• Retrieve, put away, and move merchandise between the stock room and sales floor.
