About The Position

The Early Morning Stocking role supports store operations by assisting customers, promoting merchandise and store events, communicating customer and restocking needs to management, and working with the team to meet store goals. The position involves stocking and moving merchandise throughout the sales floor and stock room, operating store devices, and following merchandise layouts, schedules, and operating procedures. The work schedule is flexible to meet business needs and may include day, evening, weekend, and overnight shifts, as well as travel when required. This is a seasonal, hourly position starting at $15.00.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Available to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including day, evening, weekend, and potentially overnight shifts; travel may be required.
• Comfortable using technology such as computers, cash registers, hand-held devices, and mobile devices, or willing to learn.
• Able to communicate effectively and engage with customers.
• Able to handle customer interactions and potential issues courteously and professionally.
• Able to use basic information-gathering skills to solve problems.
• Able to learn procedural knowledge through on-the-job training.
• Able to identify and discern email and printed instructions regarding merchandise layouts, associate schedules, and standard operating procedures.
• Able to remain in a stationary, upright position for 80% of the time.
• Able to frequently move merchandise weighing up to 25 pounds and place or remove merchandise at heights of 5–10 feet.
• Able to frequently ascend and descend ladders to retrieve and put away stock.
• Able to frequently kneel, bend, twist, and stoop, including in the stock room and on the sales floor.
• Able to frequently communicate and exchange accurate information with customers, managers, and coworkers in person and by telephone.
• Able to frequently move across the sales floor and between the sales floor and stock room.

Responsibilities

• Greet and acknowledge customers promptly, assist them, and handle multiple customer interactions efficiently.
• Assess customer needs by sharing product knowledge, answering questions, directing customers to merchandise, and offering recommendations.
• Use suggestive selling and stay informed about product availability.
• Inform customers about store events, promotions, and special activities.
• Address customer concerns and offer solutions, including exchanges when appropriate.
• Keep management informed about merchandise restocking, service requirements, and customer feedback.
• Collaborate with the team to support store and company goals and maintain a positive, productive work environment.
• Operate store equipment and devices, and retrieve and put away merchandise in the stock room and on the sales floor.
• Follow merchandise layouts, associate schedules, and standard operating procedures.
