About The Position

As a Nordstrom Rack team member, you will work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment, collaborating with teammates to create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for customers. You will help make the customer experience quick and easy while keeping the store clean and clutter-free. Flexibility is important, as you may occasionally work in different areas of the store, including sales, customer service, stock, and fulfillment. Sales and Customer Service responsibilities include keeping the salesfloor runway ready through re-merchandising and straightening, helping customers with in-store, online, and mobile transactions, supporting fitting room operations, sorting and returning clothing, organizing stockrooms, checking in and ticketing merchandise, using store technologies, following operational and asset protection standards, and promoting Nordstrom Rewards. Stock Support and Fulfillment responsibilities include receiving and delivering merchandise, fulfilling and shipping customer orders to quality standards, using inventory management systems to process and research shipments, keeping selling floors and stockrooms organized, and providing general store support such as preparing special events, markdowns, and relocating fixtures.

Ability to move continuously for 6–8 hours per shift, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing, and reaching.
Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
Ability to handle bulky and sometimes awkwardly shaped items, including reaching for and lifting items above the head.
Ability to regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
For Stock and Fulfillment roles: ability to frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Keep the salesfloor runway ready by re-merchandising, sizing, filling in, and straightening merchandise throughout the day.
Assist customers with in-store, online, and mobile transactions using a point-of-sale system; bag items and handle bulky or heavy merchandise.
Support fitting room operations by greeting and assisting customers and sorting and returning clothing to the salesfloor.
Keep customer areas clean and clutter-free by sorting and returning clothing to the salesfloor.
Organize stockrooms and ensure merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed.
Demonstrate expertise in technologies used in the store.
Follow operational, merchandise, and asset protection standards.
Promote initiatives such as the Nordstrom Rewards program.
Receive and unload freight, unpack merchandise, and deliver newly arrived merchandise to selling departments.
Fulfill customer orders promptly and according to quality standards.
Prepare and ship customer orders according to quality, packing, and shipping standards.
Use inventory management systems to scan, process, and research merchandise shipments according to inventory control processes.
Help maintain clean and organized selling floors and stockrooms.
Provide general store support, including setting up special events, organizing the backroom, completing markdowns, and relocating store fixtures.
