Seasonal Customer Service Representative - Northampton/Amherst, MA
About The Position
The Seasonal Customer Service Representative provides friendly, efficient customer transactions and offers company-approved services and products to create a positive customer experience. The role facilitates vehicle rentals and returns by verifying and documenting driver information. Seasonal employment begins in mid-May 2027 and ends on or before October 31, 2027, with employment not exceeding 180 days. The position pays $19.00 per hour and is based at an office in the Northampton, Greenfield, or Amherst, Massachusetts area. Full-time schedules of 40 hours per week are available; schedules are discussed during the interview process. Multiple schedules may include weekends and holidays.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must currently have a valid U.S. driver's license, with no more than two moving violations and/or at-fault accidents within the past three years.
- Must have no drug- or alcohol-related conviction on record (DWI/DUI) in the past five years.
- At least six months of prior customer service experience required.
- Basic experience and understanding of a PC and Microsoft Office products required.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States and must not require work authorization sponsorship now or in the future.
Responsibilities
- Meet and greet customers in a professional, friendly, and timely manner.
- Provide efficient customer service by explaining rental terms and conditions, vehicle features, and services, including optional protection products, upgrades, fuel options, and additional equipment.
- Assist customers with directions, maps, local-area information, and appropriate service information.
- Answer incoming calls regarding reservations, rate quotes, and general questions, and provide information and resolutions for customers, other branches, and vendors.
- Make outgoing calls for callback management and other assigned purposes.
- Help assess the condition of rental vehicles upon return.
- Notify management of known customer problems, vehicle problems, and required vehicle maintenance.
- Build knowledge and skills and pursue on-the-job training, development opportunities, and company-sponsored classroom training.
