About The Position

Seasonal Custodians keep commercial, retail, airport, hospitality, healthcare, convention center, arena, and other institutional premises clean and orderly. The role performs routine cleaning and maintenance of rooms, common areas, floors, furnishings, fixtures, windows, and waste areas. No supervisory responsibilities are assigned.

Requirements

• No prior experience or training required.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, and to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to present information effectively in English in one-on-one and small-group situations.
• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with tens and hundreds, including using American units of money, weight, volume, and distance.
• Ability to use common-sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions and deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
• No computer skills needed.
• No certifications needed.
• Ability to meet the stated physical demands, including frequently lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Clean and polish lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim.
• Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
• Sweep, scrub, finish, and polish floors.
• Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
• Dust furniture and equipment.
• Polish metalwork.
• Wash walls, ceilings, and woodwork.
• Wash windows, door panels, and sills.
• Empty wastebaskets and empty and clean ashtrays.
• Transport trash and waste to the disposal area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
