About The Position

The Seasonal Cleaning Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized store environment, with a focus on floor care. The role includes operating floor-care equipment and cleaning floors, glass, and windows, as well as maintaining cleanliness and recovery standards throughout the store. The associate follows operational, merchandise, health and safety, and loss prevention standards; supports customer experience practices and a positive store culture; and is cross-trained to assist in other store areas as business needs require. The position is seasonal and temporary at the TJ Maxx store in Hoover, Alabama.

Requirements

Ability to work a flexible schedule to support business needs.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks and operate a floor buffer and scrubber.
Ability to multitask.
Ability to respond appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations.

Ability to lift heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to work effectively with peers and supervisors.

Responsibilities

Maintain floor-care cleanliness standards, including operating and maintaining the scrubber and buffer.
Dust mop, damp mop, sweep, vacuum, dust, and spot-clean glass and windows.
Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards throughout the store, including the sales floor, single queue, associate lounge, backroom, and restrooms.
Follow company health and safety policies, including refilling essential items in the lounge, restrooms, and front end.
Work in other store areas as needed, including the backroom, front end, and sales floor.
Support and respond to front-end coverage needs.
Follow merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
Follow operational and loss prevention controls and company guidelines, including shrink-reduction practices.
Communicate accurately and effectively with management and associates.
Follow labor laws and company policies and procedures, including meal and break period policies.
Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Model established customer experience practices and support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
Perform other duties as assigned.
