About The Position

The Seasonal Cleaning Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized store environment, with a focus on floor care. Duties include operating the floor scrubber and buffer; dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and spot-cleaning glass and windows. The associate follows operational, merchandise, health and safety, and loss prevention standards, and is cross-trained to work in multiple store areas to support business needs. The role includes maintaining cleanliness and recovery standards throughout the store, supporting customer experience practices, responding to Front End coverage needs, and communicating effectively with management and associates. The associate also participates in safety awareness and follows company policies, including labor laws and meal and break procedures. Other duties may be assigned. This is a seasonal position at the TJ Maxx store in Mount Kisco, New York. The starting pay range is $17.00 to $17.50 per hour; actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

Maintain floor care standards, including operating and maintaining the scrubber and buffer.
Dust mop, damp mop, sweep, vacuum, dust, and spot-clean glass and windows.
Maintain organization, cleanliness, and recovery standards throughout the store, including the Sales Floor, Single Queue, Associate Lounge, Backroom, and Restrooms.
Follow company health and safety policies, including refilling essential items in the Lounge, Restrooms, and Front End.
Cross-train and work in other store areas, such as the Backroom, Front End, and Sales Floor.
Support and respond to Front End coverage needs.
Follow the company's merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
Follow operational and loss prevention controls and company guidelines, including shrink reduction.
Communicate accurately and effectively with management and associates.
Follow labor laws and company policies and procedures, including meal and break period policies.
Participate in safety awareness and help maintain a safe environment.
Role-model customer experience practices with internal and external customers and support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
Perform other duties as assigned.
