Seasonal Store Cleaning Associate
About The Position
The Store Cleaning Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized store environment, with a focus on floor care. Duties include operating the scrubber and buffer; dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and spot-cleaning glass and windows. The associate maintains cleanliness, organization, and recovery standards throughout the store, including the sales floor, single queue, associate lounge, backroom, and restrooms, and follows applicable health and safety, operational, merchandising, signage, and loss-prevention standards. The role is cross-trained to support multiple store areas and business needs, including the backroom, front end, and sales floor. The associate supports front-end coverage, responds to changing needs, communicates with management and associates, and contributes to a positive customer experience and store culture. Additional duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to support business needs.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks and operate a floor buffer and scrubber.
- Ability to multitask.
- Ability to respond appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including listening and responding appropriately.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to work effectively with peers and supervisors.

Responsibilities
- Maintain floor-care cleanliness standards, including the maintenance and operation of the scrubber and buffer.
- Clean floors and surfaces by dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and spot-cleaning glass and windows.
- Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards throughout the store, including the sales floor, single queue, associate lounge, backroom, and restrooms.
- Follow company health and safety policies, including refilling essential items in the lounge, restrooms, and front end.
- Cross-train and work in other store areas, including the backroom, front end, and sales floor, to support business needs.
- Support and respond to front-end coverage needs.
- Follow merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
- Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
- Follow operational and loss-prevention controls and company policies, including shrink-reduction guidelines.
- Communicate accurately and effectively with management and associates.
- Follow labor laws and company policies and procedures, including meal and break period policies.
- Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
- Role-model customer experience practices and support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
