About The Position

The Seasonal Cafe Barista sells and prepares Starbucks coffee beverages according to Starbucks standards, providing caring hospitality and exceptional customer service through product knowledge. The role includes working across coffee, beverage, espresso, and pastry stations, maintaining food-safety and presentation standards, and supporting café operations. Schedules include weekend shifts; hours depend on business needs and colleague availability.

Requirements

Ability to read and interpret instructional documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including day, evening, weekend, and/or holiday hours.
Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods, with reaching, crouching, kneeling, and stooping as needed.
Ability to frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds.
Ability to use computers and other technology, including handheld equipment and a cash register, and process register transactions.

Nice To Haves

1–2 years of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain current working knowledge of drip coffee, cold beverage, espresso bar, and pastry stations.
Maintain the work area and equipment in accordance with company standards and Health Department standards.
Follow Starbucks Simple Service Steps and Magic Selling skills to provide an exceptional customer experience.
Educate customers about, sample, and serve food and beverage products.
Complete station-specific duties and responsibilities.
Open and/or close the area using the appropriate checklist and verify completion with the Manager on Duty before leaving.
Maintain PAR stock levels and product presentation standards.
Prepare and present products according to Starbucks recipes while meeting speed-of-service standards.
Follow Starbucks merchandising and signing standards.
Maintain personal hygiene and professional dress standards in compliance with company, Starbucks, and Health Department requirements.
Perform other duties as needed.
