About The Position

The Barista sells and prepares Starbucks coffee beverages in accordance with Starbucks standards, providing caring hospitality and exceptional customer service through product knowledge. The role includes working across beverage and pastry stations, preparing products to Starbucks recipes and service-speed standards, maintaining stock and product presentation, and ensuring the work area and equipment meet company and Health Department standards. The position requires a flexible retail schedule that may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

Ability to read and interpret instructional documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
Ability to work a flexible retail schedule that may include days, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, and stoop as needed.
Ability to frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds.
Ability to use computers and other technology, including handheld equipment and cash registers, and process register transactions.

Nice To Haves

1–2 years of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate current working knowledge of drip coffee, cold beverage, espresso bar, and pastry stations.
Maintain the work area and equipment according to company and Health Department standards.
Follow Starbucks Simple Service Steps and Magic Selling skills to provide an exceptional customer experience.
Educate, sample, and serve customers food and beverage products.
Follow station-specific duties and responsibilities.
Open and/or close the area using the appropriate checklist and verify completion with the Manager on Duty before leaving.
Maintain PAR stock levels and product presentation standards.
Prepare and present products according to Starbucks recipes while meeting speed-of-service standards.
Follow Starbucks merchandising and signing standards.
Maintain personal hygiene and professional dress in compliance with company, Starbucks, and Health Department standards.
Perform other duties as needed.
Foster acceptance and respect and strengthen relationships with colleagues, customers, and communities.
