Seasonal Beauty Advisor
About The Position
The Seasonal Beauty Advisor provides an exceptional experience for Ulta Beauty guests by identifying their needs, completing cashier tasks, keeping merchandise fixtures stocked, maintaining store cleanliness, and completing assigned duties. The role supports the leadership team by contributing to sales and in-store events, guest service, and compliance with operating procedures. It calls for a passion for the beauty industry, strong guest service, and the ability to learn and communicate product knowledge. The advisor greets and engages guests, personalizes service, answers questions, shares promotions, recommends products and services, and assists with purchases, returns, exchanges, and online orders. The role also includes makeup applications, skincare analysis, product demonstrations, appointment booking, and support for services and store events. Advisors stay informed about products and services, contribute to store goals, support guest loyalty and omni-channel sales, and collaborate with store teams. Operational duties include following company policies and dress standards; replenishing and maintaining assigned areas and testers; keeping the store clean; assisting with resets, planograms, displays, inventory, and shipments; and protecting company assets through loss-prevention practices. The position requires a flexible schedule that includes days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, and involves frequent movement and physical activity throughout the store.
Requirements
- High school diploma preferred.
- One year of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience preferred.
- Demonstrated passion for guest service and competency in selling.
- Proficiency with basic technology, such as point-of-sale systems and Apple devices.
- Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Ability to troubleshoot.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities
- Contribute to store goals for retail and service sales, guest loyalty, omni-channel sales, and retail shrink.
- Greet and engage guests, determine their needs, personalize service, answer questions, share promotions, and recommend complementary products or services.
- Handle customer service, sales, refunds, and exchanges, and assist with online orders.
- Perform makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations.
- Book appointments and support services and in-store events.
- Stay informed about new and existing products and services, including their ingredients and benefits.
- Maintain prompt, regular attendance.
- Support an inclusive environment and share guest loyalty program, credit, and app benefits with guests.
- Collaborate with managers and associates to help grow the business.
- Participate in ongoing training and brand and category education.
- Follow company policies, procedures, standards, and dress code.
- Keep assigned work areas replenished, signed, and faced, and ensure testers are available.
- Maintain store cleanliness and standards across the salesfloor, restrooms, cashwrap, backroom, and break area.
- Assist with merchandise resets, planograms, marketing and advertising displays, inventory procedures, and shipment processing and unloading.
- Protect company assets by following loss-prevention practices and providing exceptional guest service.
- Complete other operational tasks as directed.
