About The Position

The Seasonal Beauty Advisor provides an exceptional experience for Ulta Beauty guests by identifying their needs, assisting with purchases and cashier tasks, keeping merchandise stocked, maintaining store cleanliness, and completing assigned tasks. The role supports store performance, guest service, and compliance with operating procedures. It requires a passion for beauty, strong guest service, and the ability to learn and communicate product knowledge. The Beauty Advisor engages guests, recommends products and services, assists with online orders, performs makeup applications and skincare analysis, and supports appointments and in-store events. The role also involves maintaining merchandise displays and testers, replenishing assigned areas, supporting inventory and shipment processing, and following loss-prevention practices. Advisors collaborate with store leaders and colleagues, participate in training, and comply with company policies and standards. This position requires a flexible schedule that includes days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Work involves continuous mobility and object coordination, frequent standing and bending, and lifting, carrying, or moving items weighing up to 25 pounds. Ulta Beauty will engage in an interactive process to determine reasonable accommodations when a disability prevents an associate from performing an essential job function.

Requirements

A high school diploma is preferred.
One year of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience is preferred.
Demonstrated passion for guest service and competency in selling.
Proficiency with basic technology, such as a point-of-sale system and Apple devices.
Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
Ability to troubleshoot.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Contribute to store goals for retail and service sales, guest loyalty and credit, omni-channel sales, and retail shrink.
Greet and engage guests, personalize service, answer questions, explain promotions, and recommend complementary products or services.
Handle customer service, sales, refunds, and exchanges courteously, and assist with online orders.
Perform makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations.
Book appointments and support services and in-store events that meet guest experience and sales goals.
Stay informed about products and services, including their ingredients and benefits.
Maintain prompt and regular attendance.
Support an inclusive environment for teammates, peers, and guests.
Explain the guest loyalty program, credit, and Ulta Beauty app to guests as appropriate.
Collaborate with managers and associates to help grow the business.
Participate in ongoing training, including brand and category education.
Follow company policies, procedures, standards, and dress code.
Keep assigned work areas replenished, signed, and faced, and ensure testers are available.
Maintain cleanliness and store standards in the salesfloor, restrooms, cashwrap, backroom, and break area.
Complete merchandise resets, planograms, marketing and advertising displays, physical inventory procedures, and shipment processing and unloading using company technology and best practices.
Protect company assets by following loss-prevention practices and providing exceptional guest service.
Complete other operational tasks as directed.
